Review | LUSH Magic Crystals Shower Scrub

It’s the first week of August and I decided to give you another product review to start it off! On that note, it’s been a while since I last reviewed any product for you all and I need to shake off some rust.

I think you’re going to like this review because it’s on a product from one of my favorite companies: LUSH!

This is the Magic Crystals Body Scrub and it comes in a black 10.5 oz pot. Holding the pot in my small hand, it doesn’t seem like much, but it’s enough for my body. It costs $17.95 for 10.5 oz and $29.95 for 22.2 oz.

Since it contains a mint infusion, peppermint oil and spearmint oil, along with menthol, the fragrance of this scrub is about as minty as you would expect. The purple color of this scrub is what surprised me; I was sort of expecting it to be as white as sugar, but that’s okay. The color didn’t stain the shower stall or tub as easily so no worries.

As for how it worked on my skin, it did pretty good. Rubbing it on some of my most dry and scaly patches on my body (feet, knees, underarms and hands) felt refreshing to the touch and it did have somewhat of a lather to it due to the Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Cocoamphoacetate (don’t ask me how to pronounce the second one) in it.

It was very easy to rinse off and like I mentioned earlier, there was no staining on my skin on the stall or tub.

But this is where I get into the negative point about this product. When I noticed that it has not only sea salt but Epsom salt too, I imagined this scrub to be a little on the abrasive side since I like my scrubs to be somewhat gritty so the dead skin can come off. I didn’t really get that with this scrub. It felt gentle against my skin and while it did refresh, it didn’t really polish off the dead skin as I had hoped it would.

On the other hand, when this was used on my feet, the pain from standing and moving around so much decreased somewhat and they felt better.

All in all, I would definitely buy this again to treat my feet and body once in a while. But if I have the money, I might order the bigger pot some I can have more since I didn’t see the 22.2 oz pot in the LUSH store. It’s a great foot scrub and a decent body scrub and I like it!

Have you tried this scrub from LUSH? Got any recommendations? Let me know!
