Review | Rae Marie Essentials Peppermint Rose Herbal Shampoo Bar

Hello again! I haven’t been able to get back into posting on this blog for a while due to last week being super packed with school work, my job and an event I had to attend due to the employers hosting the event. So I’ve been completely drained of energy and unable to do anything except undress and sink into my lumpy futon for some rest. Sounds exciting, right?

Anyway, I found the time to write this review for you! As I promised a long time ago (and if you remember), this will be on the one product from Rae Marie Essentials that I didn’t review yet!

This is the Peppermint Rose Herbal Shampoo Bar and it’s available on the Etsy shop for $4.50. The bar is a deep brown, oval-shaped bar with the shop’s name stamped into it as you can see below.

At the time I reviewed the other products from Rae Marie Essentials, I didn’t review this shampoo bar because I wasn’t using it at the time. Now that I’ve had the chance to use it about 4 times, I feel that I’m ready to review it for you.

To put it simply, this bar was not a good choice for me. Maybe it was the hard water or the condition of the bar, but I had a very hard time trying to get a nice lather out of this bar. I even tried it on drenched, water-logged hair and got very little results.

The smell is the one thing that I don’t mind. It’s a mellow, herbal smell with a touch of peppermint. It’s perfect for those who may be sensitive to strong smells or love natural herbal scents!

Whatever bit of lather I got from it seemed to do okay and not strip my hair. I think if this bar worked well, an ACV rinse would not have been needed because my hair didn’t feel dry afterwards (considering my previous note about getting the smallest bit of lather).

This bar just didn’t do it for me and I’m willing to try it again in the future, but not right now. But I am looking at the Avocado Spinach shampoo bar for future use since it has really good ingredients in it. So, you can say that it’s all good in the end, I guess?

That’s all I have for now. I still would love to try out more products from Rae Marie Essentials since I love the shop and I also love supporting small/tiny businesses! See you in the next post!
